Journeyman Plumber
Coal Town Furnace & AC LTD is looking to add a Journeyman Plumber to our exceptional team. Coal Town Furnace & AC LTD’s primary areas of service are the Elk Valley and Crowsnest Pass. Our shop is located in downtown Coleman and all employees are expected to commute to the shop to begin each workday.
We are seeking a candidate with plumbing experience to be the department leader on installations and service and who is eager to learn more from our skilled team. We offer diverse services to our customers and expected jobs include installing and servicing: new home drains and piping, residential fixtures, domestic hot water systems, hydronic heating systems, and residential/light commercial HVAC systems. Additional training includes sheet metal fabrication and system design. The right candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality service and workmanship and eager to continuously improve their skills.
Requirements:
Proficient in the use of required tools
Reliable transportation to the shop
Experience in leading installations
Personal tools (a list can be provided as we provide some larger tools)
The successful candidate will:
Have a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
Be able to pass a company driver’s test
Be friendly, personable, respectful, creative, and a team player
Have a willingness to learn and accept constructive criticism
Be able to lift up to 150lbs with help
Have their Plumber Journeyman trade certification (Red Seal is an asset as we work interprovincially)
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
What we provide:
New work vehicle
Access to threader, Propex, Propress, etc
Average of 40-50 hours per week with rotational on-call through the colder months (October through April)
Monday- Friday with the option of a 4 day work week
Starting Journeyman wage of $45/hour with a potential raise to $50/hour after 3 months if employee can meet expectations of workmanship and skill
Comprehensive benefits package after 3 months
$300 per year work clothing allowance
Paid holidays after 1 year (2 pre-determined weeks) in addition to regular holiday pay
