Job Posting – Apprentice 2nd/3rd Year

Coal Town Furnace & AC LTD is looking to add a 2nd or 3rd year Sheet Metal Worker apprentice to our exceptional team. Coal Town Furnace & AC LTD’s primary areas of service are the Elk Valley and Crowsnest Pass but can extend further if needed. Our shop is located in downtown Coleman and all employees are expected to commute to the shop to begin each workday. 

We are seeking a candidate with basic gas fitting and HVAC experience to assist with installations and service and who is eager to learn from our skilled team. We offer diverse services and will provide training in installing and servicing: residential/light commercial HVAC systems, domestic hot water systems, hydronic heating systems, and natural gas/propane systems. Additional training includes duct cleaning, sheet metal fabrication, and system design. The right candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality service and workmanship and eager to continuously improve their skills. Advancement through the apprenticeship program would be expected at a reasonable pace based on the skills of the employee.

Requirements: 

• Proficient in the use of required tools
• Reliable transportation to the shop
• 2-3+ years experience in the trade
• Personal hand tools (a list can be provided as we provide some larger tools)

The successful candidate will:

• Have a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Be able to pass a company driver’s test
• Be friendly, personable, respectful, creative, and a team player
• Have a willingness to learn and accept constructive criticism
• Be able to lift up to 150lbs with help

What we provide:

• Average of 35-40 hours per week with rotational on-call as skill allows
• Monday- Friday with occasional Saturdays are required
• Pay is based on $38/hour journeyman wage ($24.70/hr 2nd year, $28.50/hr 3rd year) with the potential for more based on the employees skill and competency.
